On Sunday, 24 April 2022, at 11:00 in the morning, a popular march organized by the three traditional Armenian parties took place, which started from Bourj Hammoud and reached the Catholicosate in Antelias, where a prayer service for the Holy Martyrs was held before the Martyrs’ Monument, and then His Holiness Aram I, the Catholicos, addressed his Pontifical message to the children of the people.
With the flags of Armenia and Lebanon, the justice-seeking Armenian people renewed their vow through this significant march to fight for the Armenian Cause until the Armenian regains his usurped rights. They came once again to prove that the diaspora Armenian cannot remain indifferent to the anti-Armenian policies of Turkey and Azerbaijan. The purpose of the march was to pay due respect to the immortal memory of the millions of Armenian martyrs who fell victim to Turkey’s racist policies, as well as to stand in support of their sacred cause.
Inside the compound of the Catholicosate, before the Martyrs’ Chapel, His Holiness Aram I addressed his message to the people.
At the end of his message, after expressing his appreciation to all those countries that, despite Turkey’s pressure and threats, have recognized the Armenian Genocide, His Holiness reminded Turkey that “April 24 is a day to express our gratitude to all those who, despite Turkey’s pressures and even threats, officially recognized the first genocide of the twentieth century. April 24 is also a day to remind the new generation that it is called, as a sacred duty, to keep the torch of the Armenian people’s claim alive. April 24 is a day to remind Turkey, above all, that for 107 years the children of the Armenian people have demanded their violated rights in all corners of the world and will continue to demand them with renewed determination and unwavering spirit.”
