Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that on 4 December, under the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, within the framework of the OSCE’s 26th Ministerial Council meeting, a meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers, Elmar Mammadyarov and Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, took place in Bratislava.
During the meeting, plans to strengthen the ceasefire and to continue joint work at the beginning of the following year were discussed.
The Foreign Minister of Armenia emphasized the modest result recorded within the framework of the agreements to prepare the peoples for peace, through the implementation of the exchange program for journalists from Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan. The possibility of continuing such direct contacts between journalists and societies in that context was observed. At the same time, the importance of introducing other confidence-building measures was emphasized.
Referring to the meeting held in Yerevan the previous day with the Foreign Minister of Artsakh, Minister Mnatsakanyan once again emphasized the necessity of the direct involvement of the Artsakh authorities, particularly regarding substantive issues of the settlement.
