On March 20, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Russian Federation Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov are to discuss in Moscow, among other matters, the deployment of a European Union mission on the Armenian–Azerbaijani border. This was announced by Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan at a regular session of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on European Integration.
“We are all aware that Russia has a sensitive attitude regarding the European Union mission; we are discussing the matter with our partners. You know that the Foreign Minister’s visit to Moscow is planned soon, and this matter will certainly be discussed,” he said.
It should be noted that Russian Federation Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is to meet with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Moscow on March 20. This was announced by the official representative of Russia’s foreign policy agency, Maria Zakharova.
The agenda of the negotiations includes regional issues, including the regulation of the situation around the Lachin corridor and Nagorno-Karabakh, and the implementation of the trilateral agreements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
