Developments in the Middle East, North Africa and the South Caucasus were addressed by Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit during a meeting held in Cairo.
“Concern was expressed on both sides regarding provocative actions in those regions and manifestations of conduct aimed at undermining stability and security, and the importance of unified steps by the international community aimed at preserving and strengthening peace and stability in the regions was stressed,” the Department of Media and Public Diplomacy of Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The Foreign Minister presented Armenia’s principled position and approaches regarding the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
Reference was made to the current situation surrounding the Palestinian issue, and Mnatsakanyan emphasised the efforts directed at addressing the humanitarian problems of Lebanon and Syria.
