Kevork Papoyan, chairman of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, assures that in 2022 MPs will not receive bonuses, and that the bonus fund is earmarked for staff employees. Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan, meanwhile, likewise assures that increments and bonuses have been calculated in accordance with the procedure established by law.
They said this during a joint session of the standing committees of the National Assembly while discussing the draft state budget for 2022.
“I assure you that all increments and bonuses have been calculated in accordance with the procedure established by law. During the period when the Ministry of Finance was finalising the draft law on the state budget, in all cases where there were expenditure calculations that deviated from normative regulations, they were not included in the draft state budget. You can be certain that all line items are grounded in the regulations established by normative legal acts,” said Tigran Khachatryan.
Kevork Papoyan added: “That bonus fund applies to all employees of the National Assembly, except MPs. MPs will not receive bonuses. For example, drivers will receive 30 percent, experts 30 percent, the people who clean our and your offices every morning — those people will receive a 30 percent bonus, but MPs will not receive one.”
He stressed that the draft budget does not provide for bonuses for MPs.
