Within the framework of a visit to the Russian Federation, RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan and Deputy Minister Narek Teryan met with Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.
This was reported by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the RA Ministry of Economy.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and Russia, as well as priority directions for joint activities.
In 2021, mutual trade between Armenia and Russia grew by 12.7%, reaching $2.5 billion. Exports of Russian industrial products increased by 14% year-on-year, while imports of Armenian goods also registered growth, increasing by 10%.
During the meeting, Vahan Kerobyan noted with satisfaction the significant growth in trade volumes recorded between the two countries in January-February of the current year, and expressed concern over the noticeable decline in March figures, proposing that work be carried out to urgently eliminate the causes of the decline and restore growth.
The interlocutors separately addressed a number of joint programmes being implemented in various sectors. Denis Manturov emphasised the development of cooperation in the fields of mining, the chemical industry and agricultural machinery manufacturing.
At the end of the meeting, Denis Manturov invited Vahan Kerobyan to participate in the international industrial exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia” to be held in Tashkent.
