The “My Step” faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia has issued a statement, deeming the political declaration made by certain military personnel unacceptable. In the assessment of the “My Step” faction, the statement was an attempt at a military coup.
“This unconstitutional step is aimed at seizing the people’s power and subjecting the state to shocks in this fragile post-war situation, which is also fraught with external security threats. It is regrettable that individuals responsible for the country’s security are deliberately displaying irresponsible behavior. The ‘My Step’ faction is united and determined to preserve the stability of the state and the people’s power, and it supports the Prime Minister.
We call on our citizens to join us in going to Republic Square to peacefully and non-violently exercise our constitutional right,” the faction’s statement noted.
