The National Assembly rejected the proposal of the “Bright Armenia” faction to recommend to the Prime Minister the question of the continued tenure of Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan. The draft was rejected by the National Assembly with 35 votes in favor and 84 against.
In response to Bright Armenia leader Edmon Marukyan’s question as to why the minister was not present, National Assembly President Ararat Mirzoyan stated: “I said there was no need to come, given any resolution of the issue. In any case, I considered it inappropriate, under my responsibility, to take the minister away from his work during these September days,” Mirzoyan said.
