The authorities of the Republic of Armenia have informed Russia of their readiness to begin a process of normalizing relations with Turkey without preconditions. This was stated by Vahan Hunanyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
“A number of international partners, including our ally Russia, have declared that they are ready to support the process of normalizing Armenian-Turkish relations. And during discussions with our Russian partners, we have informed them that we are ready for the normalization of relations without preconditions. If and when a process begins, we will inform the public about the development of events,” the spokesperson said.
According to Hunanyan, it is recorded in the program of the government of the Republic of Armenia that Armenia has always been ready to normalize relations with Turkey without preconditions. “At the same time, I wish to emphasize that at present no negotiations are being conducted with Turkey,” the MFA spokesperson added.
