The Central Board of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party announces with deep sorrow the death of the Vice-Chairman of the ADL Central Board, former Chairman of the ADL Regional Board of Northern Syria, devoted Comrade Levon Bilekian (born 1952), which occurred on 11 November 2022 in Yerevan.
The Armenian nation and the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party, in the person of Comrade Bilekian, have lost a faithful soldier of the cause, an unwavering servant of the Armenian nation. A man who gave meaning to his life through dedication. A man who, often forgetting himself, worked through the ADL in the name of our people and homeland.
With a solid ideological formation, believing in high national standards and carrying those values, Comrade Levon, as a devoted national figure of the Ramgavar Azadagan ideology, remained attached to the party’s principles, turning his zeal and commitment to the ADL into a way of life and principle, and continuing to walk the path of dedication traced by the greats of our party, always preferring quiet and persistent work, in the name of our homeland and to the glory of the Armenian people.
Throughout his conscious life, Comrade Bilekian placed the homeland—Armenia—above all else as the highest value, and this principle became his path in life, a source of dedication, a goal and means of action and work.
For decades, holding responsible positions, he had a rich party, national and public activity.
Before the Syrian war, during his fruitful national activity, Comrade Levon Bilekian was a constant presence in Syrian-Armenian life. As a devoted leading member of the Tekeyan Cultural Association and the Armenian General Benevolent Union, he actively participated in the national and community life of Aleppo.
It is all this that shaped Comrade Bilekian, who today departs from us to join the devoted ones who forged the glorious historical past of our party, the ranks of ideological, benefactor comrades.
On this sad occasion, the Central Board of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party expresses its heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s widow, Comrade Silva Bilekian, to his children, Comrade Hagop, Comrade Sosi and Comrade Aram, to his relatives, friends, and party and union comrades.
