The Central Board of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party announces with deep sorrow the death of national public figure, faithful veteran party member, and honorary member of the ADL Central Board, Comrade Garabed Papahakian, which occurred on Sunday, 1 November 2020, in Beirut.
Comrade Papahakian, throughout his rich national and public career, assumed numerous responsible positions within the ranks of the A.D.L., the T.M.M., and the A.G.B.U. He served as Chairman of the Founding Body of the T.M.M., Chairman of the A.D.L. Lebanese Regional Board, member of the A.D.L. Central Board, and subsequently Honorary member.
Comrade Papahakian, distinguished by his purest patriotism, with unwavering devotion for more than six decades made it his life’s mission to serve the Homeland and the Armenian people silently and selflessly. During his fruitful national activity, he took an active part in the national and communal life of the Lebanese-Armenian community, bringing his material and moral contribution to the needs of the nation and the homeland with his characteristic magnanimity and unique generosity.
With his discipline, devotion, patriotism, and dedication to service, he was an exemplary party member, for which he enjoyed the respect of all, without exception.
The requiem service for the deceased will take place in Beirut, on Monday, 2 November 2020, at 2:00 p.m., at the Antelias Monastery.
On this sad occasion, the Central Board of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party expresses its heartfelt condolences to the widow, children, relatives, and friends of the deceased.
