RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Citizen’s Day, expressing conviction that they are on the right track.
The message states:
«Dear citizens of the Republic of Armenia, I warmly congratulate us all on the occasion of Citizen’s Day.
This holiday was established to record the pivotal role of the Citizen — the most important institution of a democratic state — in the formation and development of the state.
The Non-violent, Velvet, popular revolution of 2018 is the symbol of the establishment of the Citizen’s power in Armenia, and that value is irreversible and unshakable.
The page of falsifying elections and thereby depriving the Citizen of the constitutional right to make decisions has remained in the past, and Armenia is now perceived throughout the world as a country with electoral democracy.
Also because, after the disastrous 44-day war of 2020, first and foremost the Citizen not only did not allow the chaos of his state, but also raised the democratic standing of our country in the most difficult post-war period.
Dear people, proud Citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
We have passed and are passing through indescribable, sometimes — let us say directly — unbearable difficulties.
Every day, every hour, at every step they try to infect us with the virus of doubt and hesitation, they try to shake our faith in our past and future and, what is more important, in our mission.
I call on you, I ask you all, I demand of you all: do not hesitate, do not doubt; we are not the authors of the disasters poured upon our country, we have been granted a harsh fate and a most sacred mission: to lead our homeland through the inevitable disasters that have been materialised before the eyes of us all for many years, and to bring it to a peaceful, prosperous, happy future.
And on this path our knees have not bent and will not bend. Now more than ever I am convinced: we are proceeding on the right path, and our ship, which has found itself in a stormy ocean, we will bring to a peaceful harbour.
And therefore —
Long live Freedom,
Long live the Republic of Armenia,
Long live our children, who will live in a Free and Happy Armenia:
Eternal glory»:
