The next meeting of high-ranking officials of Azerbaijan and Armenia is planned to take place in May in Brussels. This was announced by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a meeting with participants of the international conference “South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation.”
The head of state noted the active role of the European Union, particularly European Council President Charles Michel, in the process of regulating relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, recalling that two trilateral meetings have already taken place on the EU’s initiative.
“We will also have telephone conversations. It is planned to hold another meeting of representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Brussels at the beginning of May,” said the Azerbaijani President.
He stressed that Baku highly appreciates the EU’s role in the post-conflict regulation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“We consider the EU an honest mediator and welcome their efforts. If the Minsk Group is not functioning now, we believe that the EU can play its role in the regulation process,” said Aliyev.
“We support it and already see the fruits of our work… Brussels has become the venue for my main visits,” he added.
