One of Armenia’s Rarest Predators Rediscovered in the Republic After 100 Years

One of Armenia’s rarest predators, the manul, has been rediscovered in the republic after 100 years. According to Armenpress, this was reported by the RA Ministry of Environment. The manul (Latin: Otocolobus manul) is a predatory mammal belonging to the cat family, which is registered in the Red Book of the RA. It is also called Pallas’s cat, in honor of the German naturalist Peter Pallas, who discovered the manul on the shores of the Caspian Sea in the 18th century.
