It is well known to all of us that the first guarantee and pledge of the security and safety of Armenia and the Armenian people is having a strong army.
The military developments recorded in past years, and especially the events that took place on the Tavush border zone in recent days, once again underscored this conviction. The Armenian army, as in the days of the forging of Armenia’s third independence and particularly during the Artsakh existential struggle, once again demonstrated an heroic stance and, relying on the Armenian spirit and the perceptions of the Christian faith, was able to masterfully resolve the complex and fundamental military challenges set before it.
Today we witnessed how our brave soldiers of the newly blossoming army, baptized with the spirit and devotion of heroic freedom fighters, once again make history.
All of this, naturally, is being followed vigilantly and with pounding hearts by the Armenian diaspora, which seeks to extend its material and moral support to the sacred work carried out by the Armenian soldier.
In this regard, “Ramgavar Press” has learned that, in view of the rather complex situation created on the border, a group of Toronto-based compatriots, who modestly requested that their names not be published, came together and contributed 1,500 US dollars to the “Servicemen’s Insurance Fund,” in order to meet the needs of our army, considering this not a donation but their minimal duty toward the Armenian soldier.
“Ramgavar Press” highly appreciates this heartfelt initiative directed toward the sacred work of army-building and homeland-building, and, by reporting on it, wishes it to become a contagious example, and, taking advantage of the occasion, once again calls upon every diaspora Armenian to stand behind the Armenian soldier standing at the border and to contribute their share to the cause of defending the homeland.
We are confident that compatriots living in various regions of the diaspora will likewise seek to fulfill their heartfelt and sacred duty in the name of the strengthening of our army.
