“Today we are bringing the long-standing chapter of Amulsar to completion, and, of course, this is unambiguously a success story.” RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this in his address dedicated to the launch of the operation of the Amulsar mine.
In his words, one must first address the question of why today we are able to organize this event in such a solemn atmosphere, without protest demonstrations nearby.
“I think answering this question is very important. You all know that the Amulsar project has been expressed in different manifestations, and I think that the path we have traveled must also be analyzed in order to adopt procedures for future investment programs.
I think one of the most important tasks is to raise public perception and awareness regarding all of this, and our policy from the first moments of dealing with the issue has been the following. First, to formulate answers to all the questions concerning the public and second, to do everything so that the citizens of the RA consider this project theirs as well in the most visible and tangible way possible.
Let us finally record that the subsoil that today turned into gold before our eyes, that subsoil belongs to the Republic of Armenia and is the property of the people of the Armenia.
Our greatest task has been to show that this wealth will serve the development and welfare of Armenia, and of course, the fate of this investment program will be of essential significance for bringing new such investment programs,” the prime minister said.
