Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the regular session of the Anti-Corruption Policy Council was held within the government.
Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that before moving to the actual agenda, he wished to make a few emphases. The head of government, in particular, stated in his remarks: “I believe it is evident to all that the government of Armenia has the political will to wage a comprehensive fight against corruption, is consistent on this issue, and will continue to be consistent.”
“We have formulated a political problem that in the Republic of Armenia there must be formed and established a public zero tolerance towards corruption, and this is the political goal we have undertaken to accomplish. Of course, today we shall discuss the anti-corruption strategy and the program of measures. This must still become a government decision, must be circulated, but we believe that a document already exists on the basis of which we can carry out very serious and clear work,” the Prime Minister stated.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office of Information and Public Relations, within the framework of the session’s agenda, Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan addressed the main directions of the Anti-Corruption Strategy — system development, corruption prevention, detection of corruption offenses, anti-corruption education and awareness, and the steps envisaged in those directions.
