Pashinyan calls on all political forces, including CP supporters, to put an end to undue hostility

“With today’s rally we are summing up the pre-election campaign and the elections, and I hope that today we are in fact recording that the internal political crisis registered in Armenia on November 9 has been overcome, and that from tomorrow we return to full-fledged work, but the conditions and the environment have changed substantially today, because the Republic of Armenia has given our government, this political group, a mandate to establish the dictatorship of law and justice in the country; the people have carried out a steel revolution,” – on June 21, at the Republic Square rally of the

“With today’s rally we are summing up the pre-election campaign and the elections, and I hope that today we are in fact recording that the internal political crisis registered in Armenia on November 9 has been overcome, and that from tomorrow we return to full-fledged work, but the conditions and the environment have changed substantially today, because the Republic of Armenia has given our government, this political group, a mandate to establish the dictatorship of law and justice in the country; the people have carried out a steel revolution,” – on June 21, at the Republic Square rally of the “Civil Contract” party, declared acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Nikol Pashinyan, who heads the electoral list of the “Civil Contract” party, made two proposals-appeals to all participants in the political process.

Pashinyan addressed an appeal to all participants in the political and public process: “The people of Armenia have made their decision. The people of the Republic of Armenia have created a new political situation and circumstances. And the first point and juncture of that situation is the following: I propose to all political forces, to all political and public participants, to begin from a simple point – to put an end to vituperation. And I call first of all on our political like-minded people and supporters to put an end to vituperation, because a new page is opening in the history of Armenia and Artsakh, and we must begin that page with the consolidation of national and public potential, with the re-establishment of new values, truly democratic values, state and national values,” – said Pashinyan.

He admitted that he himself had not avoided that logic: “But I am the first to take on that obligation myself, and I call on all our supporters to put an end to vituperation, undue aggressiveness, undue hostility, because we face the most serious challenges, and we must open this new and wonderful page of state-building,” – he said.

Pashinyan added that this does not mean that they will renounce any obligation previously undertaken before the people, adding that in Armenia there will be unquestionable legality, order and discipline, and the inevitability of accountability.

He voiced the second proposal to the participants in public and political life. Pashinyan recalled that the return of what was stolen from the people has always been the urgent agenda of their government. He stressed that during the previous 3 years they have taken nothing from anyone, and have wanted institutions to operate in the country that would be beyond the whims of persons and individuals. Pashinyan recalled that the mechanism for the confiscation of illicit assets has been activated, and it will inevitably operate.

“In the logic of my previous proposal, I want to propose to all such people and remind them that, as a result of the legislative changes we have adopted, those people who have similar problems can negotiate with the state regarding the voluntary return of what was stolen. And I call on all those people, starting from today, not to lose the opportunity and not to reach the point where the state mechanisms begin to operate. I call for immediately starting negotiations regarding the return of what was stolen, which will serve the socio-economic agenda of the Republic of Armenia,” – said Pashinyan.

He also declared that from tomorrow morning he will begin political consultations with those forces that participated in the parliamentary elections and have an inclination to engage in dialogue and discussion.

“And I also hope that the people are giving me this mandate, because at this stage of the history of our country and people we must move towards the consolidation of the best cultural, scientific, economic, business, public and political potential, and to serving all that potential to the security and well-being of our country, our people, Armenia and Artsakh. I also call for such a dialogue with all those structures and segments with which we have had debates during this process. We extend to you our hand of consolidation, emphasising that this can in no way call into question the obligation we have undertaken before the people – to implement the steel mandate and to establish the dictatorship of law and justice in Armenia,” – continued the candidate for Prime Minister.

Referring to the positions of the clergy, Pashinyan noted that he also calls for spiritual and organisational dialogue with the spiritual leaders of our country.

“Because I believe that what happened yesterday in the parliamentary elections (I had already said this during one of the campaign meetings in Ararat Province), because the voice of the people is the voice of God. And no spiritual servant has the right to oppose the voice of God, and we must also renew the spiritual life of our country, because to bring our dreams to life, according to theory, only one thing has been lacking – faith the size of a mustard seed has been lacking, and we must create that faith in our hearts and in our consciousness, and when we have that faith, we will have a free and happy country, a free and happy homeland.”
