Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Tim Loughton, head of the UK-Armenia All-Party Parliamentary Group in the British Parliament, discussed the situation in the South Caucasus, particularly around Nagorno-Karabakh.
Prime Minister Pashinyan presented his observations regarding the processes taking place around Nagorno-Karabakh and emphasised the importance of an adequate response from the international community to Azerbaijan’s destructive actions.
The head of the executive addressed the humanitarian problems arising as a result of Azerbaijani actions in Artsakh, the steps to destroy Armenian cultural heritage in territories that have come under the control of Azerbaijan’s armed forces, the possibilities for demarcation and delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, regional unblocking, as well as Armenian-Turkish dialogue.
Speaking about cooperation between the two countries, Tim Loughton expressed confidence that it will continue to strengthen at the parliamentary level in the future, and that they will invest all efforts to contribute to the deepening of bilateral political and economic ties. He highlighted the democratic reforms being implemented in Armenia and expressed confidence that their effective implementation will contribute to Armenia’s further progress.
