Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, who is in Armenia on an official visit.
First, an official welcoming ceremony took place, followed by a private conversation between the prime ministers of the two countries and a meeting in an expanded format.
“It is important to note that we are both convinced that as a result of today’s negotiations, the relations between our countries will improve even further. If I am asked what the achievements of my one and a half years as prime minister are, then first of all I will mention the formation of relations with Georgia at a new level. At the same time, I am confident that as a result of our work, bilateral cooperation will develop much further,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office of Information and Public Relations, the Georgian Prime Minister in turn stated: “It is a great honor for me to be in Armenia on an official visit. We have a great responsibility before our ancestors, who laid the foundation of friendship between our countries and peoples. I want to assure that our relations will deepen even further with the fulfillment of the commitments we have undertaken, which will also have an impact on our citizens. Despite the fact that we both highly value our relations, we still have good opportunities to develop ties in the economy, culture and other spheres.”
During the private conversation, the interlocutors touched upon a number of agenda items in Armenian-Georgian relations, including topics related to the expansion of trade and economic ties and the development of cooperation in various branches of the economy.
At the meeting in an expanded format, Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that during the private conversation they had managed to discuss a wide range of issues. “Its most important result is the following: we are deeply interested in recording new results in the relations between our countries and in forging a vision of strategic development,” said the Armenian Prime Minister.
