In the 2020 budget, 307 billion drams have been allocated to the Ministry of Defence, which exceeds the actual figure for 2018 by 28 percent, or 66 billion drams, and is approximately 4.5 percent more than the actual figure for 2017. Since May 2018, the Republic of Armenia has acquired an unprecedented quantity of weapons and ammunition compared to any visible period. The armed forces have been supplied with air defence systems, artillery, anti-aircraft installations, firearms, ammunition, and 310 units of motor vehicles. By the way, it is our Ministry of Defence and General Staff that have decided what to purchase; the government has provided the necessary funds.”
