RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced via a Facebook live broadcast that a rally will be organized on March 1 at 18:30 in Yerevan’s Republic Square.

Pashinyan stated that with this rally, to be held on the symbolic day of “March 1,” “we must reaffirm the determination of our public and people to protect the civil, democratic, constitutional order in Armenia and the popular government.” “Of course, I will address the ‘March 1’ trial,” Pashinyan assured, noting that he will also address the attempted military coup and the RA President’s decision of March 27 not to dismiss the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces at the Prime Minister’s proposal. “I will demonstrate that that decision is absolutely groundless,” the RA Prime Minister emphasized.

Referring to talk about the possibility of civil clashes, the RA Prime Minister assured that there will no longer be civil clashes and new “March 1s” in Armenia, and that this must be demonstrated through participation in the March 1 rally.

Pashinyan noted that at the rally he will address the “March 1” case with parallels and comparisons to “October 27.”

He added that he will address what needs to be done in the judicial sphere and the problems of the Supreme Judicial Council.

According to Pashinyan, a number of political forces will be invited to participate and speak at the rally, so that the rally serves two purposes: first, to demonstrate that there is a strong public in Armenia that can defend its power to form a government, and second, that the pages of March 1s and civil clashes in Armenia are closed in the sense that the recurrence of such events is excluded.

The Prime Minister announced that at the rally there will be talk of possible developments in the domestic political situation, the issue of prisoners, and the rally will conclude with a march.
