Today, September 15, during the National Assembly-Government question-and-answer session, in response to a question by Sargis Khandanyan of the Civil Contract party regarding Armenia-Turkey relations, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stressed: “We have responded to the positive signals received from Turkey and have expressed readiness to begin work on the normalization of relations and the opening of communication routes. And we have done so publicly.”
He noted that a number of international partners, again publicly, have shown readiness to support that process.
“The next step should be to start that dialogue, which should first be at the working level, and then, if we see that there is a need for it, it could also be public. At this moment, we are acting within the framework of what we have declared, and we are preparing to move forward in that direction,” said Prime Minister Pashinyan, and informed that today he will depart for Dushanbe to participate in the CSTO summit, where Armenia will assume the CSTO presidency. “I will also address that topic in that format. What I have to say will be placed within the very framework of what I have already said from this podium.”
