A trilateral meeting was held in Brussels between Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of the European Council Charles Michel, and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Nikol Pashinyan addressed the situation created in Artsakh as a result of the recent actions of Azerbaijani units, as well as the humanitarian issues.
Issues related to the implementation of the trilateral statements of November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021, and November 26, 2021, as well as the agreements reached during the trilateral meeting held in Brussels on December 14, were discussed.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached, in accordance with the understanding reached in Sochi on November 26, 2021, to establish by the end of April a bilateral commission on border delimitation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which will also be vested with issues of ensuring security and stability along the border.
The Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan instructed the foreign ministers to launch preparatory work for peace negotiations between the two countries.
