Over the past day, the coronavirus has been confirmed in 308 people. Of the 1,853 tests conducted on July 28, 16.6 percent were positive. This is the best figure in recent months.
During the previous week, the coronavirus was confirmed in 20-25 percent of those tested. Earlier, this figure reached 30 percent or more.
According to the press secretary of the Ministry of Health, Alina Nikoghosyan, this positive trend is the result of adherence to anti-epidemic rules: “In the last few months we have begun to be more vigilant, and I hope that this trend continues.”
In total, 37,937 cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Armenia to date. As in the previous week, yesterday too the number of recoveries exceeded that of new infections. Patients in severe and extremely severe condition are mainly treated at the “Saint Krikor Lousavorich” Medical Center, whose deputy director, Bedros Manukyan, noted in a conversation with “Azadutyun” today that there is a certain positive change. According to him, whereas previously there was a problem placing people in their hospital, now 15-20 percent of beds are free.
In his opinion, the coronavirus cannot circulate forever and remain equally active.
According to yesterday’s data, 453 patients in Armenia are in severe condition with the coronavirus, 81 people are in extremely severe condition, and 26 people are connected to mechanical ventilators.
