The tender announced for the construction of the Ajapnyak station of the Yerevan metro has a winner. During the government session of April 28, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the question and possibility of building the Ajapnyak station in Yerevan has been under discussion for a long time.
“We have started the practical phase. A tender was announced regarding the design of the station. There is a winner of the tender, and today the issue of financing is to be discussed, so that the designer prepares the project of the Ajapnyak station, which means that we are entering the construction phase,” said Pashinyan.
According to him, of the 850 million drams in damages compensation delivered to the Yerevan community by the company “Parking City Service,” 750 million drams is to be directed to the design work of the station.
Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan, for his part, responded by saying that the project is to be implemented within 510 days, or perhaps sooner, within the range of 50 million dollars.
“The project is to take place in three stages. With these financial resources, we will be able to finance the first two stages. At the same time, I will ask for your recommendation, so that we can work from now on regarding the procurement of financial resources for the third stage of the project,” said Sargsyan.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that this programme is a strategic one, because it means that the metro makes a crossing to the other bank of the Hrazdan River, which means that an opportunity is created for future branching towards Davtashen, Malatia-Sebastia, the 15th district, and so on.
