Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met at the government with the participants of the “I Gorts” program, which involves the engagement of Diaspora specialists in Armenia’s state governance bodies.
Welcoming them, the Prime Minister noted: “I am glad that we are continuously implementing this program, despite all the difficulties and complexities. I am also glad that we can record that the program has clear results in terms of achieving the goals we have set. And in this case, we are talking about engaging the Diaspora’s potential in Armenia’s state governance system.
As you probably already know, we have high-ranking officials among the program’s participants, namely the Deputy Minister of Economy and the Chair of the Tourism Committee, which shows the seriousness of our intentions. Of course, first and foremost, the seriousness of the participants’ intentions was expressed, to which we responded accordingly.
I hope that we will continue this process, because we also want the engagement of the Diaspora’s potential in Armenia’s state governance system and in solving the problems facing our country to become more and more tangible, more material. We also want our esteemed representatives of the Diaspora to see the problems from within, to participate in their assessment, and also to propose clear solutions that perhaps the ordinary everyday perspective does not notice.
Of course, I think we will continue this process. I also see from your eyes that you are truly serious, and for that I am sincerely very glad, because you know that we are facing unprecedented challenges, and addressing and solving those unconventional challenges requires unconventional approaches. We hope that you will bring those unconventional approaches with you, and also help us, enrich us with your knowledge, skills, and abilities, and if you can take and record something useful from what has already been done, of course, we will be glad for that as well.”
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Diaspora in this format, through the programs of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs: “I may not be well-informed, I do not rule it out, but I do not recall that Armenia’s leader or leadership has ever had cooperation with the Diaspora in this format before.”
