“There is disagreement between the authorities of Armenia and Artsakh on certain issues, and the best way to eliminate it is the parliamentary and presidential elections expected in Artsakh next year,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared in an interview given to the Paris-based publication Nouvelle d’Arménie.
In response to the journalist’s question about whether a cooling of relations with Artsakh is being observed and what the points of disagreement are, the Prime Minister of Armenia answered: “I think it is not correct to say that our relations with Artsakh have cooled, because dozens of officials are in constant contact every day and work together. Things must be stated clearly: the Artsakh authorities worked for a long time with the previous government, with all the consequences that could have. Today there is a new government in Armenia, and it is natural that there is disagreement on certain issues. It is necessary to act to eliminate those disagreements. The best way to achieve this is the parliamentary and presidential elections expected next year in Artsakh. As a result of those elections, which will be free and democratic, those disagreements will come out.”
