Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, had a meeting on the morning of 5 February with the newly appointed Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Ulukbek Maripov.
As reported by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Prime Minister’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan congratulated Ulukbek Maripov on his appointment to the high office of Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan and wished him success in his work. The Prime Minister noted that Armenia and Kyrgyzstan have close cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, within the framework of integration (unification) unions, and that Armenia is interested in deepening partnership ties.
The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia for his high assessment and stressed that his country attaches great importance to the strengthening of partnership with Armenia. In his words, the two countries are bound by traditionally warm relations, and work must be done to deepen cooperation in areas ranging from trade and economic to cultural and humanitarian fields.
The interlocutors emphasized the high level of political dialogue and reaffirmed their interest in deepening mutual relations.
Nikol Pashinyan and Ulukbek Maripov exchanged views on the development of trade and economic cooperation. In this context, reference was made to the opportunities arising from the reopening of transport communications and the unblocking of roads in the region, as well as the prospects for infrastructure development. The sides exchanged information on measures to overcome the coronavirus pandemic and agreed to intensify high-level mutual contacts in parallel with the stabilization of the epidemiological situation.
