Prime Minister Present at Opening of New Garment Factories in Yerevan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was present at the opening ceremony of new garment production factories in Yerevan. In one building, sewing factories of the “Alex Textile”, “Sartex” and “Asa Garment” brands are to begin operations. The Prime Minister toured the production floors, familiarising himself with the production activity and product range. The head of the executive welcomed the implementation of new investment programmes in the light industry sector and noted that the Government of the Republic of Armenia is ready, within the scope of its toolkit, to support the development and progress of the sector. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was present at the opening ceremony of new garment production factories in Yerevan. In one building, sewing factories of the “Alex Textile”, “Sartex” and “Asa Garment” brands are to begin operations.

The Prime Minister toured the production floors, familiarising himself with the production activity and product range. The head of the executive welcomed the implementation of new investment programmes in the light industry sector and noted that the Government of the Republic of Armenia is ready, within the scope of its toolkit, to support the development and progress of the sector.

The Prime Minister’s Office stated that in total, 1,000 new jobs have currently been created in the sewing factories, but in the near future it is planned to increase that number to 3,000. The factories are to produce jackets, leather fabric and knitted clothing.
