Taking into account that, as of this moment, the Office of the President of the Republic has not received responses from all invitees regarding the meeting to be held on 13 March at the residence of the President of the Republic, the format of the meeting will be announced later.
This was stated by the Department of Public Relations of the RA President’s Staff.
It is worth recalling that the President of the Republic, Armen Sarkissian, in a statement issued on 10 March, invited the Prime Minister of the Republic, the heads of parliamentary factions and the leaders of the Homeland Salvation Movement to a meeting at the presidential residence on 13 March at 12:00, with the aim of discussing the domestic political situation in the country and finding mutually acceptable solutions to overcome the crisis.
The “My Step” faction of the RA National Assembly is ready to participate in the meeting initiated by President Armen Sarkissian to discuss the country’s domestic political situation and find solutions. The “Bright Armenia” faction of the RA National Assembly has responded to the President’s invitation. The head of the faction, Edmon Marukyan, stated that they have accepted the invitation and are ready to participate in any discussion where it is possible to restore civil solidarity and find ways to lead the country out of the deep crisis. The “Prosperous Armenia” faction has not yet made a decision regarding President Armen Sarkissian’s meeting invitation. Member of the “Homeland Salvation Movement” Ishkhan Saghatelyan had stated that they have not yet held discussions about the meeting invitation; they will discuss it and, if they deem it necessary, will issue a statement afterwards.
