On April 20, a reception dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Armenia’s full membership in the International Organisation of La Francophonie took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, attended by Ambassador Désiré Nyaruhirira, Special Adviser for Diplomatic and Political Affairs to the Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, Louise Mushikiwabo. Also present at the reception were high-ranking guests from various ministries of Armenia, deputies of the National Assembly, ambassadors and chargés d’affaires of Francophonie member states accredited in Armenia, heads of French institutions operating in Armenia, and high-ranking representatives of the scientific and educational sphere.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahe Kevorkian delivered a welcoming address, reaffirming Armenia’s strong attachment to the Francophone world and noting with satisfaction the great significance of Francophone culture in the life of Armenian society. He also referred to Armenia’s presidency of the Francophonie Summit, assumed in 2018, which will conclude in November of this year.
Désiré Nyaruhirira also delivered a speech, warmly congratulating Armenia, on behalf of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, on the occasion of the anniversary of its ten years of full membership, praising the exemplary relations and exceptional cooperation between Armenia and the Organisation.
