Crews of Mi-8MTV-5 and Ka-52 helicopters of the army aviation of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation’s Defense Ministry, stationed in Armenia, have conducted complex piloting exercises during training flights in the high mountain zone.
Individually, in pairs and in groups, the pilots practiced complex piloting and maneuvering skills in difficult weather conditions.
The pilots also carried out search-and-rescue operations and evacuation of simulated wounded in mountainous terrain.
More than 120 flight and engineering personnel took part in the training flights of the army aviation of the Southern Military District, with around 20 units of military and special equipment involved, including Mi-8MTV-5 and Ka-52 helicopters of the army aviation.
