Official Moscow sees no deliberate delays in the matter of exchanging prisoners of war and the bodies of those killed in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. RIA Novosti reports.
“It is difficult to speak of any deliberate delaying steps in this process. We do not see it that way, but it is a fact that there are objective difficulties which, I hope, will now be resolved more quickly,” Lavrov said during a press conference on the results of the online meeting of CSTO foreign ministers.
He noted that “given how the military operations developed, immediately after the ceasefire it was very difficult to resolve these issues, especially in the absence of clear lists of those considered missing.”
“We hope that with the involvement of specialists from the international structure (ICRC), everything will proceed more quickly. Our peacekeepers, to the extent possible, of course, will help,” Lavrov added.
