Units of the Russian 15th separate peacekeeping brigade sent to the conflict zone of Nagorno-Karabakh have arrived in the Armenian city of Goris after a march of more than 300 km. This was reported to journalists on Thursday by the Russian Ministry of Defence, TASS reports.
“The column of units of the 15th separate peacekeeping brigade, which has arrived to take part in the peacekeeping operation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, has reached the concentration point in the city of Goris after a march of more than 300 km,” the military department said.
The units consist of contract servicemen who have undergone special training to carry out the peacekeeping mission. In particular, they have studied the norms of international humanitarian law in armed conflicts.
“The peacekeeping contingent is equipped with modern weapons, military and special equipment, including BTR-82A armoured personnel carriers, Tigr and Typhoon vehicles,” the Russian Ministry of Defence added.
