Rustam Muradov to personally handle the return of prisoners — Russian Ambassador to Armenia

The return of Armenian prisoners still in Azerbaijan is among Russia’s priority issues. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin said this during a brief meeting with journalists. “Both our leadership and the peacekeepers are speaking about the prisoner issue. Work is underway, there is certain progress. The prisoner issue is among Russia’s priority issues,” he said. Referring to Azerbaijan’s statements that the prisoner issue has already been resolved, the Russian Ambassador to Armenia said that the Russian side continues to work towards the return of prisoners.

“It is difficult for me to interpret Azerbaijan’s statements; I can only say that Russia continues its work,” he said.

He confirmed that Lieutenant-General Rustam Muradov will personally continue to handle the return of prisoners.
