The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and in the Nagorno-Karabakh zone could seriously destabilize, declared CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov during an expanded meeting of the leadership staff at the organization’s headquarters.
According to him, the dangers related to the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border persist. The CSTO Secretary General described the existing tension in the Caucasus region as a consequence of long-standing contradictions.
CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov was in Armenia in mid-March, where he negotiated with the leadership and visited Jermuk.
