On 18 September, Armenia’s Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan received the delegation led by Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, who had arrived in Armenia on an official visit.
Suren Papikyan expressed gratitude to Pelosi for her swift response to the situation, for visiting Armenia, and for voicing pointed assessments regarding the large-scale Azerbaijani military attack on Armenia’s sovereign territory on 13 September.
He presented to Pelosi the situation created as a result of the large-scale Azerbaijani military attack, while Pelosi, for her part, addressed the United States’ position regarding this situation.
During the meeting, a number of issues regarding cooperation between the two countries in the defense sector were also discussed.
