The Government of the Republic of Armenia is trying to find options for commemorating the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide on April 24 under the state of emergency declared in Armenia and a number of countries around the world. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, during a question-and-answer session with the government in parliament, responding to a question from Vladimir Vardanyan, a deputy of the National Assembly’s “My Step” faction.
“The struggle for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and for justice will never cease. These are unprecedented, unusual circumstances, but throughout this entire period, no circumstance has stopped the Armenian people in this important struggle for justice. This year as well, we will find an option, both in Armenia and outside Armenia. The Armenian Genocide has been and remains one of the priority directions in foreign policy,” the Minister said.
Under the state of emergency, the participation of citizens in the events of April 24, May 8 and May 9 will be restricted.
