On Monday, April 13, following the partial municipal elections of the Glendale City Council in March, the members of the newly formed city council elected Vrej Agajanian as mayor, who had been elected to the city council in April 2017. Mr. Agajanian was elected to the office of mayor for the first time, becoming Glendale’s 7th Armenian-American mayor, succeeding attorney Ara Najarian. Mr. Agajanian has been a professional surveyor and is the owner of two television stations in Glendale.
Within community life, he has served as chairman of the Armenian-American Surveyors and Scientists Association, as well as the Central Board of the Iranian-Armenian Union of Los Angeles.
Mr. Agajanian is a member of the Glendale Police Foundation, as well as the Glendale Kiwanis Club, and has also served as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Shushi Orphanage.
As a member of the city council, he serves on the city’s housing program committee, as well as on the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority committee, representing the Glendale City Council.
We wish Mr. Agajanian success in his office as mayor.
