Armenia strongly condemns the ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani armed forces in the direction of the Tavush region of the Republic of Armenia, which began at noon on July 12, accompanied by attempts to infiltrate Armenian positions and the use of artillery. Thanks to the proportionate actions of the Armenian side, these provocative actions are being effectively restrained. This was written on his Facebook page by the press secretary of the RA Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anna Naghdalyan.
“The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, in coordination with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, is in constant contact with the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, presenting the situation on the ground and the risks of its further escalation.
In recent times, the Azerbaijani side, despite the calls of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to refrain from provocative actions and hostile rhetoric and to strengthen the ceasefire, has continuously resorted to the use of force and military threats.
The full responsibility for the consequences of the provocative action carried out under these threats lies with the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan,” she wrote.
