Statement:
The Security of Our People and Our Homeland Must Take Precedence Over Any Other Consideration
In recent times, the course of historically weighty events in the Republic of Armenia and the well-known developments that have emerged as a result have given rise to deep reflections, intense turmoil, and growing emotion and concern not only in the homeland but throughout the entire Armenian diaspora.
In the midst of this turbulence of emotional upheaval, it is vitally necessary that we remain, as a nation, supremely sober and vigilantly deliberative, for otherwise we may yield to terrible and irreversible losses.
Our fundamental and unwavering focus must be the full guarantee of the security of our people and our sacred homeland. We must also show the utmost solicitude toward our statehood, sovereignty, and democracy. It is with this correct understanding of responsibility that we must be guided, as much as possible free from emotional outbursts and delusions. True and unwavering patriotism presupposes fully conscious sacrifice, particularly at such fateful junctures. We must also hold high our national dignity, especially in the eyes of others.
We are compelled to address one more unpleasant phenomenon. On May 8, 2024, a statement was published on the news internet under the title “The Policy of Contempt Adopted by the Authorities Led to a Popular Uprising,” signed “The Combined Press of the Ramgavar Party.” In this regard, in consultation with the ARF [sic] Republican Board of Armenia, we declare that a structure appearing under that name does not exist within the party, that it is fictitious, and consequently its disseminated statement does not express the position and viewpoint of the ADL, that is, it is entirely disinformation.
Furthermore, we declare and also warn that any statement in the name of that fabricated “structure” has absolutely no connection or relation whatsoever with the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party.
