RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin for the efforts exerted toward restoring stability in the region and for the regulation of the Karabakh conflict. Nikol Pashinyan noted this after the meeting in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“Unfortunately, that conflict is not yet resolved. We managed to secure a ceasefire, but there are still issues that remain unresolved. Among them is the question of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh. Armenia is ready to continue negotiations within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. Unfortunately, today we did not succeed in resolving the issue of prisoners, which is the most sensitive and painful issue. It is a humanitarian issue, and we have agreed to continue work in this direction, but we believe that point 8 of our joint statement is not being fully implemented. I hope that we will be able to reach clear solutions in a short period of time,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
Let us recall that the RA Prime Minister’s press secretary, Mane Gevorgyan, had stated that the previously planned agenda of the trilateral meeting is of an economic nature, concerning the opening of regional communications, the implementation of international cargo transportation, including from Armenia to the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as from Armenia’s central regions to the Syunik province via the Nakhichevan railway.
