President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, during a bilateral meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, stated that he expects an agreement to be reached on all issues relating to Karabakh.
“In my opinion, indeed, despite the issues you mentioned, which still remain unresolved, I hope that, nevertheless, it will be possible to reach agreement on all issues, including those of a humanitarian nature,” Putin said.
“Generally speaking, in my opinion, the meeting is useful in that it makes it possible to determine the future of the region and the building of relations in the region. First of all, of course, between Armenia and Azerbaijan. I want to say that our relations have been, are and will be allied. In all respects, we are close partners. Today we spoke a great deal about the economy. In this connection, I would like to note that despite the difficult past year, we have increased our trade turnover by almost 4%. All this gives grounds to hope that with the regulation of the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, we will find solutions in favour of the Armenian people, the Armenian state and our bilateral relations.”
