Today, 25 November, the Karvachar district passes entirely under Azerbaijani control. As the correspondent of RIA Novosti reports, the motorized rifle troops have left the area, blowing up the barracks and other installations of the military unit.
The last Armenian military units have already withdrawn from the Karvachar district of Mountainous Karabakh, which passed to Azerbaijan at midnight.
“We stayed here throughout the entire war and gave them nothing. Now it is 12 km in a straight line to the Azerbaijani positions. We are leaving our forward positions and blowing up the remaining installations of the military unit so that they do not remain for the Azerbaijanis. We are going to Armenia. Our unit is one of the last,” a representative of the motorized rifle unit’s command told the correspondent during a conversation.
It is noted that the personnel left the district before the explosions were carried out. Representatives of the unit’s command oversaw the destruction of the military installations.
Earlier, the district was to be handed over on 15 November, but at the request of the Armenian side the deadline was postponed to 25 November. The Aghdam district was handed over to Azerbaijan on 20 November, and the Lachin district is to be handed over by 1 December.
