The Armenian Caucus of the US House of Representatives has called for allocating more than $100 million in aid to Armenia and Artsakh, in light of the devastating Turkish-Azerbaijani attacks they were subjected to last year.
As reported by the Armenian National Committee of America, the congressmen made this call as House Appropriations Subcommittee on Foreign Operations Chair Barbara Lee and senior member Hal Rogers began drafting the fiscal year 2022 foreign aid bill.
As reported by the Armenian National Committee of America, expressing gratitude to congressmen Pallone, Speier, Schiff and their colleagues who joined them, the letter they presented states that immediate assistance is necessary for the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh to address the urgent restoration of homes, reconstruction efforts, ensuring food security, medicines, water supply and other priority issues.
The congressmen also called for halting all forms of material assistance to Azerbaijan until the cessation of all attacks against Armenia and Artsakh is ensured.
