Philip Reeker, the American co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and US special representative for negotiations on Caucasus issues, will visit the countries of the South Caucasus this week. This was announced during a press briefing by Vedant Patel, deputy spokesperson for the US State Department.
He noted that this will be Reeker’s first trip in his new role. “We hope that visits to the region will be periodic. He will depart this evening and will visit Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. He will have meetings with senior officials of the three countries to discuss key regional issues, as well as opportunities for support and direct engagement for constructive resolution of contentious issues and regional cooperation,” Patel said.
