The US state of New Jersey has recognized the Republic of Artsakh. The Senate unanimously adopted the resolution presented by Joseph Lacana, thus becoming the 10th state to recognize Artsakh’s independence.
In addition to the recognition of Artsakh, the resolution condemns Turkey and Azerbaijan for their attacks against the civilian populations of Artsakh and Armenia, and reaffirms the state of New Jersey’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
“The international recognition of the right to self-determination of the people of the Republic of Artsakh has no alternative, and we will continue our persistent struggle for the realization of that goal,” wrote the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan.
