Armenia considers it necessary to create a regulatory framework for common markets of gas, oil and oil products for the development of the EAEU. Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this during a session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata.
“We are convinced that one of the key components of the union’s effective development is consistent and transparent work aimed at creating a regulatory basis for common markets of gas, oil and oil products. The effective use of the union’s energy potential can be a response to many challenges, contributing to the strengthening of energy security and sustainable development of our countries’ economies,” Pashinyan noted, expressing hope for the continuation of constructive work based on mutual understanding and the interests of all EAEU member states.
He also noted that Armenia expresses its satisfaction with the significant work carried out by the commission on the formation of common markets of gas, oil and oil products and the authorised bodies of the EAEU states, which is reflected in the presented reports. Pashinyan noted that the EAEU countries have begun discussions on an international treaty regarding the formation of a common gas market. “I also note with satisfaction that we have managed to reach an agreement on the concept of forming a common market for oil and oil products, based on the five principles approved by all EAEU countries.”
