In a video address to the people, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan also touched upon the question of what Armenia’s future will be.
“Dear people, our country has a future, and we will do everything to make this difficult trial of ours a key cornerstone of that future, and we must as a nation draw lessons from the mistakes we have made.
Many ask whether, after this brutal war, it is possible to speak of a good future; yes, because today there are even states in the world that were subjected to the most brutal capitulations of the 20th century (surrender—Ed.), but today they rank among the most powerful countries in the world.
They did that after a harsh defeat by placing emphasis on the development of education, science, industry and democracy, and this must be our task ahead. I call on all of us to focus on this task, for the sake of strengthening our country. This will be our best service to the memory of our martyrs, to our wounded and disabled servicemen, and to their families,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister also called on the public not to yield to provocations and to rally around the government.
“The government is determined to bear its responsibility unreservedly in the task of bringing the country out of this situation, while at the same time guaranteeing that no one will take away the power that belongs to the people, in order to realize their goals of plundering the country and returning it to the vortex of corruption,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
